Bulk Barcode Generator
A free bulk barcode generator: paste a list of values, pick a barcode type and get a whole batch of barcodes in seconds. Everything runs in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.
How it works
This bulk barcode generator needs no account and no upload. Your list is processed by a script running inside the page, which is also why it keeps working if you go offline after loading it.
- Add your values. Type or paste one value per line, for example SKUs, asset tags, shelf locations or ticket numbers. If you only need running numbers, open the sequence builder, set a prefix, a start number and a count, and it fills the list for you.
- Choose the barcode type. Code 128 accepts any printable ASCII text and is the safe default. Pick EAN-13, UPC-A or EAN-8 for retail product codes, or Code 39 for older systems that still expect it.
- Adjust size. Bar width and height control how large each label is. Wider bars are easier for cheap scanners to read when printed on a basic office printer.
- Download or print. Save every barcode as an SVG or PNG file inside one ZIP, or print the whole sheet straight from the browser.
Invalid lines are not silently dropped. Each one is shown in red with the reason, such as a wrong check digit or a character the chosen format cannot encode.
Which barcode type should you pick?
Code 128
The most flexible choice in any bulk barcode generator, and the default here for internal use. It encodes letters, digits and punctuation, and it automatically switches to a compact digit-pair mode when your value contains long runs of numbers, which keeps the barcode short. Good for inventory, warehouse bins, shipping references and asset labels.
Code 39
Limited to capital letters, digits and a few symbols, and wider than Code 128 for the same data. It is still common in older equipment, libraries and some industry standards.
EAN-13, UPC-A and EAN-8
These are the retail formats printed on products. Enter 12 digits for EAN-13 (or 11 for UPC-A, or 7 for EAN-8) and the check digit is calculated for you. If you enter the full length, the check digit is verified and a mismatch is reported. Note that this tool draws the symbol; it does not issue GS1 company prefixes, which you must license separately if you plan to sell products in shops.
What people use a bulk barcode generator for
- Inventory and stockroom labels: create a bin or SKU label for every item in a spreadsheet column in one go.
- Asset tracking: number laptops, tools or furniture with a sequence such as ASSET-0001 to ASSET-0200.
- Events and tickets: produce unique reference codes for check-in lists.
- Libraries, classrooms and clubs: label books, equipment and membership cards.
- Small online shops: prepare product labels for warehouse picking or returns handling.
- Testing: generate sample barcodes to test a scanner, a point-of-sale integration or a label template.

Tips for barcodes that scan the first time
- Keep the quiet zone. The tool adds blank margin on both sides; do not crop it away when you place labels in a document.
- Print at 100% scale. Resizing a page to fit can shrink bars below what a scanner can resolve.
- Use dark bars on a light background and avoid glossy surfaces under bright light.
- Prefer SVG for large print runs because it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG when a design tool or label app only accepts bitmaps.
- Always test a printed sample with the scanner you will actually use before printing hundreds.
- Keep values short. Any bulk barcode generator produces wider symbols for longer text, so use the shortest identifier that is still unique.
Frequently asked questions
Is this bulk barcode generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on downloads. The tool handles up to 500 values per batch, which keeps the page responsive on phones and older laptops.
Are my values uploaded anywhere?
No. The barcodes are drawn by JavaScript inside your browser tab. Nothing from your list is sent to a server, so it is fine to use it with internal SKUs or asset numbers.
How do I make hundreds of barcodes from a spreadsheet?
A bulk barcode generator works best with a plain list. Copy the column of values from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the list box. Each row becomes one line and one barcode. Then download the ZIP or print the sheet.
Which format is best if I am not sure?
Code 128. It supports any printable ASCII character, is compact, and is read by virtually every modern scanner. Choose EAN-13 or UPC-A only when you need retail product codes.
Why was one of my lines skipped?
The value did not fit the chosen format. Code 39 cannot encode lowercase-only symbols such as underscores, EAN and UPC need digits only, and a full-length EAN or UPC with a wrong check digit is rejected. The red note under the preview names the problem.
Can I print labels directly?
Yes, the bulk barcode generator prints the whole preview as a sheet. Use the Print sheet button and set the scale to 100% in your browser's print dialog. For label sheets with fixed cells, download the SVG or PNG files and place them in your label software.
Does it make QR codes too?
Not at the moment. This bulk barcode generator focuses on linear one-dimensional barcodes. For QR codes use a dedicated QR generator.
